June 5 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Serb Republic said it has prepared a draft law for electronic money which will regulate the establishment and operation of electronic money companies in the entity.
The draft law presents the basis for the use of digital forms of money by citizens and business entities, the Serb Republic government said in a press release last week.
"Bearing in mind that issuing electronic money represents a new financial service on the domestic market of payment services, the draft law proposes appropriate qualitative requirements regarding the ownership and management structure of companies that intend to engage in this activity," the statement read.
The draft law will be sent to the entity's parliament for adoption.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
