January 27 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Serb Republic plans to produce a total of 8,028 GWh of electricity this year, up 3% compared to the 2019 plan, the entity's government said.
After meeting the electricity needs of all domestic consumers, the Republic will remain with 3,788 GWh of electricity surplus, the government said in a statement last week, after adopting the 2020 energy balance document.
The thermal power plants operating in the Republic are expected to produce 5,200 GWh of the total output this year, up 3% compared to last year's plan, the statement said.
The entity's hydropower plants will generate 2,353 GWh of the annual plan, up 3.5%, it added.
The Serb Republic is one of the two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other is the Federation.
