June 7 (SeeNews) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's Serb Republic considers forming a state-owned bank, the entity's prime minister, Radovan Viskovic, said.
The new bank would be merged with the entity's Investment-Development Bank (IRBRS), Viskovic told a press conference streamed by the YouTube channel of the entity's government on Tuesday.
The Serb Republic also plans to request from the competent court to speed up the bankruptcy proceedings of Banka Srpske, Viskovic said. Banka Srpske, which is 99.95% owned by the Serb Republic government, is in bankruptcy proceedings since 2017.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
