SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), October 22 (SeeNews) – The number of construction permits issued in Bosnia's Serb Republic increased by 9.4% year-on-year in September, reaching 105, the entity's statistical office said on Thursday.
The number of permits issued for residential and non-residential buildings increased by 26.4% in annual terms in September, whereas the permits for civil engineering projects dropped by 41.7%, the Institute of Statistics of the Serb Republic said in a monthly report.
Out of the total number of permits issued in September, 82 covered new construction projects, 16 were related to upgrades and extensions, while the remainder covered works for reconstruction and conversion of buildings.
Based on the number of permits issued, 567 dwellings were planned in September, up by 118% year-on-year.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
