SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), January 24 (SeeNews) – The number of construction permits issued in Bosnia's Serb Republic in December plummeted by 36.3% year-on-year to 79, the entity's statistical office said.
The number of permits issued for residential and non-residential buildings dropped 38.7% on an annual comparison basis in December, whereas the permits for civil engineering projects decreased by 29%, the Institute of Statistics of the Serb Republic said in a monthly report on Thursday.
Out of the total number of permits issued in December, 63 covered new construction projects, two were related to upgrades and extensions, while the remainder covered works for reconstruction and conversion of buildings.
Based on the number of permits issued, planned dwellings increased by 2% compared to December 2018, reaching 306.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
