BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), June 24 (SeeNews) – Consumer price inflation in Bosnia's Serb Republic was little changed at 0.6% year-on-year in May, compared with 0.7% in the previous month, the entity's statistical office said on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Serb Republic grew by 0.1% in May, after falling 0.9% in April, the Serb Republic's Institute of Statistics said in a statement.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco in the entity rose 2.9% year-on-year, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages were 1.1% higher, while prices of transport increased by 1%. Prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels added 4%.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in May was recorded in the clothing and footwear sector, of 11.9%.
The Serb Republic is one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
