SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), March 24 (SeeNews) – Bosnia's Serb Republic annual inflation slowed down to 0.1% in February, from 0.8% in January, the entity's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Serb Republic rose by 0.1% in February, after adding 0.4% in January, the Serb Republic's Institute of Statistics said in a statement on Monday.
In annual terms, prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco in the entity rose 5.4% in February, food and non-alcoholic beverages added 0.4%, while prices of transport fell 0.3%. Prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels increased by 0.7%.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in February, of 8.7%, was recorded in the clothing and footwear sector.
The Serb Republic's average consumer price inflation slowed to 0.5% in 2019, from 1.2% in 2018.
The Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
