BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 24 (SeeNews) – Consumer price inflation in Bosnia's Serb Republic accelerated to 1.6% year-on-year in August, compared to 1.5% in the previous month, according to data released by the entity's statistical office on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Serb Republic remained unchanged in August, after edging down 0.6% in July, data posted on the website of the Serb Republic's statistical office shows.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco rose 4.8% year-on-year, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages remained unchanged, while prices in the transport sector increased 11.8%. Prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels added 2.1%.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in August was recorded in the clothing and footwear sector, of 11.3%.
The Serb Republic is one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
The Serb Republic closed 2017 with an average annual consumer price inflation of 0.5%.
