SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), January 23 (SeeNews) – Bosnia's Serb Republic inflation edged up to 0.3% year-on-year in December, from 0.2% in November, the entity's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Serb Republic remained unchanged in December, after edging down 0.2% in November, the Serb Republic's Institute of Statistics said in a statement on Wednesday.
Bosnia's Serb Republic average consumer price inflation for the 12 months to end-December slowed to 0.5%, from 1.2% in 2018.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco in the entity rose 5.3% year-on-year in December, food and non-alcoholic beverages added 1.4%, while prices of transport fell 0.9%. Prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels increased by 0.7%.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in December, by 10.6%, was recorded in the clothing and footwear sector.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
