BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 23 (SeeNews) – Consumer price inflation in Bosnia's Serb Republic edged up 0.1% on the year in August, after remaining unchanged at 0.3% in July, the entity's statistical office said on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Serb Republic fell by 0.3% in August, after dropping 0.5% in July, the Serb Republic's Institute of Statistics said in a statement.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco in the entity rose 5.6% year-on-year, food and non-alcoholic beverages added 0.4%, while prices of transport lost 0.4%. Prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels increased by 2.9%.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in August was recorded in the clothing and footwear sector, by 13.2%.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
