SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), March 26 (SeeNews) – The share indices of Bosnia's Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) closed higher on Friday, compared to their values a week earlier, whereas the benchmark index of the country's other exchange, in Banja Luka, closed lower, bourse data showed.
The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the SASE ended Friday's session at 743.62 points, down 0.22% compared with its March 12 close.
The broader SASX-30 index, which is composed of the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, closed 2.32% higher at 760.85 points.
The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, added 0.10% to 928.34 points.
The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI, launched by SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI), rose 0.09% to 9,639.81 points. The index tracks 25 companies.
SASE’s turnover remained flattish at 2.1 million marka ($1.3 million/1.1 million euro).
Lender Privredna Banka Sarajevo [SASE:BORBRK3] generated the highest turnover on the SASE this week, of 1.2 million marka. Its shares closed unchanged at 35 marka on Friday.
SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.
The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 578.62 points on Friday, down 0.51% compared to its closing level on March 19.
The bourse's total trading turnover soared to 22.8 million marka this week from 571,000 marka last week.
Trading in government securities issued by the Serb Republic contributed some 21.5 million marka to this week's total turnover, BLSE figures showed.
Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] contributed the largest portion of this week's total trading turnover among the companies on the BLSE, of 280,109 marka. The company's shares closed 0.97% lower at 1.02 marka on Friday.
