October 18 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia's Sarajevo canton said it has awarded a 15-year concession for underground water use to Kakanj-based company TBG BH, a unit of Germany's HeidelbergCement.
Under the contract, TBG BH will utilise 1.1 litres per second, or 34,713 cubic metres per year, of the underground water of the BBD-1 Betonara Doglodi well, the cantonal government said in a statement on Thursday when the deal was signed.
The well is located in the Doglodi neighbourhood in the Ilidza municipality, on the territory of the Sarajevo canton, the statement said.
The water will be used by the Sarajevo unit of TBG BH to meet its technological needs for concrete production, as well as like technical waters for washing equipment and the surrounding area.
TBG BH was established back in 2001 as a subsidiary of Bosnian cement producer Tvornica Cementa Kakanj, which is part of the HeidelbergCement group.
TBG BH's main business is concrete production, transport and installation at contracted destinations. It has six concrete plants at different locations across the country.
