May 4 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Sarajevo airport is set to implement a 38 million marka ($21.2 million/19.4 million euro) expansion project to accommodate rising passenger numbers, local media reported.
The airport's Terminal B will be expanded by 9,000 sq m to increase its passenger processing capacity above the current 1 million mark, news portal Ekapija reported on Wednesday.
The main reconstruction and expansion project will be drawn up by local company Group Arch.
A tender for contractors is expected to be launched shortly. Works should last 18 months.
At the end of 2016, the airport served 12 air carriers. It plans to further boost passenger numbers by introducing new routes this year.
