November 28 (SeeNews) - Traffic at Bosnia's Sarajevo international airport reached record-high 900,000 passengers year-to-date on Tuesday, the airport operator said.
The number of passengers seen thus far in 2017 is a milestone for the Sarajevo airport, which hopes to welcome one million passengers next year by introducing new routes, its operator said in a statement.
Last month, Sarajevo airport launched an expansion and modernisation project that will increase the number of check-in counters from 12 to 15 and will see an additional baggage checking X-ray machine installed along with new conveyor belts.
In 2016, passenger numbers at Sarajevo airport increased by 8.5% year-on-year to 838,966.
