December 6 (SeeNews) - Passenger numbers at Bosnia's Sarajevo International Airport surged to 1.3 million in the January-November period, compared with 696,934 passengers served in the like period a year earlier, data by the airport operator showed.
In November alone, the airport in the Bosnian capital served 68,243 passengers, compared with 61,989 in the same month of 2021, according to figures posted on the website of Sarajevo Airport.
Aircraft take-offs and landings at Sarajevo airport totalled 866 in November, down from 926 in same month of 2021. In the first 11 months of 2022, airport operations increased to 14,621 from 10,384 in the January-November period of 2021.
Sarajevo international airport served 767,134 passengers in 2021, up 207% year-on-year, as total operations rose to 11,467 from 5,896 in 2020.
In 2020, border crossing at Bosnia's airports was halted from April 1 to May 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has three other international airports, located in Banja Luka, Tuzla and Mostar.
