January 10 (SeeNews) - Passenger numbers at Bosnia's Sarajevo international airport went up 207% year-on-year in 2021, reaching 767,134, data by the airport operator showed.
Aircraft take-offs and landings at the airport totalled 11,467 in 2021, up from 5,896 in 2020, according to figures posted on the website of Sarajevo Airport.
In December alone, the airport in the Bosnian capital served 70,200 passengers, compared with 13,367 in the same month of 2020. Aircraft take-offs and landings rose to 1,083 in December 2021 from 393 a year earlier.
In 2020, border crossing at Bosnia's airports was halted from April 1 to May 1 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
