October 7 (SeeNews) - Passenger numbers at Bosnia's Sarajevo International Airport went up 175.4% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2021, reaching 550,483, data by airport operator showed.
In September alone, Sarajevo Airport served 99,950 passengers, compared with 21,011 in September 2020, according to figures posted on the website of the airport operator.
Aircraft take-offs and landings at Sarajevo Airport totalled 1,276 in September, up from 511 in same month of 2020.
Border crossing at Bosnia's airports was halted from April 1 to May 1 last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Sarajevo airport served just 249,642 passengers last year, sharply down from 1.14 million in 2019.
