October 1 (SeeNews) - Bosnian company RSV Energy plans to invest some 70 million marka ($39.0 million/35.8 million) in building a solar power plant in the municipality of Bosanski Petrovac, northwestern Bosnia, local media reported.
The economy ministry of the Una-Sana canton (USC), where the municipality is located, is preparing the necessary documentation for the construction of 47 MW of solar power capacities on an area of 80 hectares, which is in line with the investor's interest, news portal eKapija.com reported, quoting USC's economy minister Nijaz Kadiric as saying on Monday.
The signing of the agreement on the project is expected by the end of the year, Kadiric said.
In June, RSV Energy already opened its first solar plant in Bosnia, which has an installed capacity of 150 kilowatts and can produce 219 MWh per year. It is located on 1,600 square metres in Krnjeusa, near the town of Bosanski Petrovac, and comprises 1,200 solar panels and a substation.
The investment in the plant amounted to 720,000 marka.
The Una-Sana canton is one of the ten cantons in the Federation, which makes up Bosnia and Herzegovina along with the Serb Republic.
