March 9 (SeeNews) - Bosnian coal mining and energy company RiTE Gacko [BANJ:RITE-R-A] said its net profit jumped to 10.8 million marka ($5.8 million/5.5 million euro) in 2022, compared with just 543,404 marka made the year before, as operating income increased.
Total operating income went up 26.9% on the year to 161.9 million marka in 2022, while operating costs rose 19.3% to 156.8 million marka, RiTE Gacko said in a filing with the Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) earlier this week.
The company's shares last traded on the BLSE on March 7, closing 20% higher at 0.03 marka.
RiTE Gacko is located in the southern part of the Serb Republic, one of Bosnia's two entities. The other one is the Federation.
The Gacko power plant is one of the two coal-fired power plants operating in the Serb Republic. The other plant is part of the Ugljevik coal mining and power generation company located in northeastern Bosnia.
