September 20 (SeeNews) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's public debt totalled 12.67 billion marka ($6.9 billion/6.5 billion euro) at the end of June, equivalent to 26.72% of the projected 2023 gross domestic product (GDP), slightly down from 12.7 billion marka at the end of the previous quarter, finance ministry data showed.
The public debt of Bosnia's Federation rose to 6.5 billion marka at the end of June from 6.3 billion marka three months earlier, whereas the public debt of the Serb Republic fell to 6.1 billion marka from 6.3 billion marka, the finance ministry said in a quarterly debt report last week.
The public debt of Brcko district amounted to 45.68 million marka at the end of June, down from 45.77 million marka at the end of March. The public debt of the state-level institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina edged down to 61.76 million marka at the end of June from 64.57 million marka three months earlier.
At the end of 2022, Bosnia's public debt totalled 13 billion marka, equivalent to 29.57% of the country's GDP.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is made up of two autonomous entities - the Serb Republic and the Federation, and the self-governing Brcko District.
