August 12 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality and public broadcaster BHRT are inviting expressions of interest in the purchase of land for the construction of a congress centre in Sarajevo, a project worth an estimated at 350 - 400 million marka ($241 million/204 million euro), the municipal government said.
The property comprising a land plot of 29,534 square metres and a two-storey building spreading on 575 square metres is owned by BHRT.
The planned Sarajevo congress centre will spread on 5.77 hectares and will include a 5-star hotel with 300 rooms and 34 apartments, a shopping mall, a garage, business facilities, the municipal government said in a statement on Tuesday.
The project also envisages the construction of a 39-floor high-rise, several multi-functional halls, a concert hall with 734 seats and parking area of 65,544 square metres on three floors.
The invitation for expression of interest will be open for 30 days.
The Sarajevo congress centre urban project was adopted in March 2016 but the resolving of legal issues related to property ownership took more than two years.
Novi Grad is one of four municipalities that make up the city of Sarajevo.
