May 29 (SeeNews) - Works on a 16 million marka ($9.1 million/8.2 million euro) project for construction of a gondola lift at Bosnia's Jahorina ski resort have been launched, local media reported on Wednesday.
The completion of the project is expected by December 1, news portal Klix.ba reported.
The gondola lift, with capacity of over 2,700 people per hour, will be able to work during harsh weather conditions.
The project was announced in early May, when Jahorina Olympic Centre CEO Dejan Ljevanic and Lietner's CEO Martin Leitner signed an agreement to build the gondola lift.
Jahorina ski centre is the largest ski resort in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo, now the capital of post-war Bosnia, hosted the Winter Olympics in 1984 when the country was still part of the former Yugoslavia.
