November 6 (SeeNews) - Bosnian road company Hercegovinaputevi has launched reconstruction works worth 12.4 million marka ($7 million/6.3 million euro) on the Ljubinje-Trebinje road in the southeastern part of the country, the Serb Republic's road company Putevi Republike Srpske said on Wednesday.
During the first stage of the project works will be carried out on a 7.5-kilometre section of the road, which has a total length of 59 km, the entity's road company said in a press release.
"We will also build 10.5 km of protective fences, solving the year-long problems on this road," the acting head of Putevi Republike Srpske, Nenad Nesic, said.
The government of the Serb Republic entity and Putevi Republike Srpske financed the reconstruction project.
The completion deadline is 36 months.
The Serb Republic is one of two entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
