October 9 (SeeNews) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3.4% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2018, after expanding by 2.0% in the first quarter, the national statistical office indicated.
The country's second-quarter GDP grew by 1.1% over January-March, according to seasonally adjusted data published by the Agency for Statistics.
Observed by activities, in the second quarter of 2018 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, real growth of the gross value added was recorded in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (+16.8%), and wholesale and retail trade (+11.7%).
A fall of the gross value added was recorded in the segment of other service activities (-7.8% in real terms).
Bosnia’s GDP totalled 8.4 billion marka ($4.9 billion/4.3 billion euro) at current prices in the second quarter, compared to 6.5 billion marka in the prior quarter and 7.9 billion marka in Q2 2017.
