March 26 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia's Federation said it will allocate a total of 9 million marka ($5.4 million/4.6 million euro) to the three international airports on the entity's territory in order to improve their performance.
The operator of Sarajevo airport will receive 500,000 marka, Mostar airport will get 1 million marka, while Tuzla airport will be assisted with 1.2 million marka, through three programmes for subsidies to public enterprises, the Federation government said in a press release on Thursday.
In addition, Sarajevo airport will be allocated 3 million marka to implement an ongoing project for modernization and reconstruction of its Terminal B.
The airport in Mostar will receive a further 2.5 million marka to procure an aviation fuel supply system, plus 500,000 marka for the implementation of a project for the revamp of its terminal roof and the purchase of equipment and software, while Tuzla airport will get 300,000 marka to finance a project for the construction of a parking lot.
Bosnia comprises two autonomous entities, the Federation and the Serb Republic. The country has four international airports, with three of them located in the Federation and one in Banja Luka, the biggest city of the Serb Republic.
