January 18 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Federation turned to inflation of 1.7% in 2017, from an earlier reported deflation of 1.1% in 2016, according to data from the entity's statistical office.
Prices in the transport sector saw the highest annual growth of 6.9% in 2017, followed by the alcoholic beverages and tobacco sector with a rise of 5.3%, figures show.
The highest yearly drop was recorded by the prices of clothing and footwear, of 4.6%.
In December alone, consumer prices increased by 1.9% year-on-year, after rising at the same rate in November.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco rose the most, by 6.1% year-on-year, in December, followed by transport prices with an increase of 4.3%.
On a monthly comparison basis, the Federation consumer price index remained unchanged, after edging up 0.1% in November.
The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
