October 19 (SeeNews) - Consumer prices in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina dropped 1.2% on the year in September after falling at the same rate in August, the entity's statistics office said.
On a monthly basis, the Federation's consumer price index (CPI) fell 0.1% in September after decreasing 0.2% a month earlier, the office said in a statement published on its website earlier this week.
The most significant year-on-year drop, of 5.7%, was seen in the prices of clothing and footwear in September, while the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages fell 1.8%.
Prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels dropped 1.2% on the year, while transport prices decreased 2.4%. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices jumped 6.5%.
In 2015, the Federation recorded an average annual deflation of 0.7%, the same as in 2014.
The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
