January 27 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Federation net electricity output fell to 8,598 GWh in 2019, from 9,146 GWh a year earlier, the entity's statistical office said on Monday.
The entity's electricity imports almost doubled to 2,036 GWh in 2019 from 1,078 GWh a year before, while exports grew to 3,064 GWh from 2,841 GWh, the Federation's statistical office said in a statement.
Net electricity output from hydro power plants increased to 4,060 GWh in 2019, fom 3,486 GWh in 2018, while electricity output from thermal power plants fell to 4,538 GWh from 5,660 GWh.
In December alone, the net electricity production of Bosnia's Federation increased to 971 GWh from 803 GWh in the same month of 2018
On a monthly comparison basis, the electricity output in December was also higher than November's 770 GWh.
In December, the entity's electricity imports plummeted to 53 GWh from 98 GWh in the same month a year earlier, while exports grew to 368 GWh from 294 GWh.
Month-on-month, the Federation's electricity imports plunged 61.3% in December, as exports soared 34.8%.
