September 30 (SeeNews) - The gross domestic product (GDP) of Bosnia's Federation increased by a real 5.3% on the year in the second quarter of this year, following a 6.2% increase in the first quarter of this year, and a 13.4% increase in the second quarter of last year, the entity's statistical office said in a first estimate on Friday.
In seasonally-adjusted terms, the growth in the Federation's economic output slowed down to 0.7% on a quarterly comparison basis in the April-June period of this year, from a revised increase of 1.7% in the first three months of this year, and an 1.2% increase in April-June 2021, the Federation's statistical office said in a statement.
The largest real annual growth rate of gross value added in the second quarter of 2022, of 13.9%, was recorded in the information and communication sector; followed by an 11.1% growth in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transportation and storage, accommodation and food service activities; a 7.2% growth in professional, scientific and technical activities, administrative and support service activities; and a 5.5% growth in manufacturing.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
