SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), May 26 (SeeNews) - The number of construction permits issued in Bosnia's Federation rose 11.7% year-on-year to 248 in April, the entity's statistical office said.
The number of permits issued for residential and non-residential buildings increased 62.8% on an annual comparison basis to 210 in April, whereas the permits for civil engineering projects totalled 38, down 59.1% on the year, the statistical office said in a monthly report on Wednesday.
Out of the total number of permits issued in April, 222 covered new construction projects, 16 were related to upgrades and extensions, while the remainder covered works for reconstruction and conversion of buildings and spaces.
Based on the number of permits issued in April, planned dwellings numbered 343, up 82.4% year-on-year.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
