SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), January 28 (SeeNews) – The number of construction permits issued in Bosnia's Federation decreased by 9.4% year-on-year in 2020, the entity's statistical office said.
In December, the number of construction permits issued in the entity increased by 3.7% year-on-year to 252, the statistical office said in a monthly report earlier this week.
The number of permits issued for residential and non-residential buildings fell by 6% on an annual comparison basis in December, whereas the permits for civil engineering projects increased by 48.8%.
Out of the total number of permits issued in December, 215 covered new construction projects, 15 were related to upgrades and extensions, while the remainder covered works for reconstruction and conversion of buildings.
Based on the number of permits issued in December, planned dwellings numbered 264, up 7.3% compared to the same month of 2019.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
