September 22 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federation said it gave the green light to the supervisory board of state-controlled telco BH Telecom [SAJ:BHTS] to dismiss the entire management board and name an acting management board led by Amel Kovacevic.
The acting management board and director will serve until a procedure for the selection of a new board is completed, for a period no longer than one year, the Federation's government said in a statement on Thursday.
BH Telecom's acting management board also includes Erdal Islamagic, Damir Caus, Muamer Duric, Anisa Lojo Bajric, Sasa Palinic and Semir Ibrahimovic.
The reason for the management board overhaul was not disclosed.
BH Telecom is the largest of three telecommunications companies operating in Bosnia, which comprises two autonomous entities, the Federation and the Serb Republic. BH Telecom is based in Bosnia's capital Sarajevo and has its customers mainly in the Federation. The company offers fixed and mobile voice services and Internet access.
The other two Bosnian telcos are HT Mostar, which is active in the Federation, and Telekom Srpske which operates in the Serb Republic.
