July 20 (SeeNews) - The consumer price index (CPI) of Bosnia's Federation rose by 16.8% on the year in June, following an increase of 15.1% in May, the Federation's statistical office said on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, the Federation's CPI grew by 1.7% in June, after rising by 0.7% in May, the entity's statistical office said in a monthly report.
The average consumer prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight in the consumer basket, rose 23.9% on the year in June, prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels went up by 19.2%, while the transportation costs surged 33.8% compared to June 2021.
The CPI of Bosnia's Federation rose by an average 2.1% last year, after a decline of 0.9% in 2020.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
