SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 18 (SeeNews) – The shareholders of Bosnia's state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda BiH have consented to the selection of a Chinese consortium to partner with on the construction of a 450 MW cogeneration unit at the existing Tuzla thermal power plant (TPP), EPBiH said on Tuesday.
EPBiH, China's Gezhouba Group Company Limited and Gunagdong Electric Power Design Institute will jointly invest in the TPP, the power utility said in a statement.
The project will be funded by the Export - Import Bank of China and EPBiH's own funds, the latter noted.
The construction period is planned to take up to 56 months from the date the two companies are introduced to the job.
The choice of partner will come into force once the parliament of Bosnia's Federation entity approves the partnership deal.
The new Tuzla TPP is planned to produce 2,739.81 GWh of electricity and 390.9 GWh of thermal energy per year.
The Federation is one of two entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina, the other is the Serb Republic.
