September 21 (SeeNews) - The environment ministry of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federation said it has received a request from power utility Elektroprivreda BiH [SAJ:JPESR] to conduct a preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the project for the construction of the 50 MW Vlasic wind farm.
The Vlasic wind farm will generate 115 GWh of energy per year, the ministry said in a notice on Wednesday.
The public can examine the request and submit an opinion within 30 days from its announcement.
In March, Bosnia's Council of Ministers approved a 36 million euro ($38.3 million) loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to finance the construction of the Vlasic wind farm. The project is expected to begin in 2024.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Serb Republic.
