August 5 (SeeNews) - Bosnian power utility Elektroprivreda BiH [SAJ:JPESR] said it has purchased six electric vehicles and installed six charging stations in front of its offices in six cities in the country.
The investment has increased Elektroprivreda BiH's fleet of electric vehicles to eight and the number of electric vehicle chargers to seven, the company said in a press release on Saturday.
The new chargers were installed in Bihac, Gorazde, Mostar, Travnik, Tuzla and Zenica. They are public facilities and operate in a promotional phase, with charging free for all owners of electric vehicles.
Adnan Bosovic, a member of EPBIH's electric mobility development team said that the cost of electricity used by its electric vehicles is 1.6 marka ($0.9/0.8 euro) per 100 kilometres.
"Such a commitment by our company, which is the biggest producer and distributor of electric energy in our country is logical since electric mobility represents a new area of demand for such source of energy which we have to timely anticipate and satisfy," said Suada Penava, manager of EPBIH's electric mobility development team.
