August 30 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's state-owned power distribution company Elektrokrajina will begin tendering for a project to improve the reliability of its power supply in the fourth quarter of the year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the financier, said.
Elektrokrajina will use the proceeds of a 15 million euro ($17.9 million) loan from the EBRD to reach its strategic objectives of reducing losses and improving the quality of supply with the replacement of substations and reconstruction of networks in the most populated areas, the EBRD said in a statement on Tuesday.
The company will require the procurement of the following services: the reconstruction of medium and low-voltage networks; the reconstruction of substations; and the extension of smart metering in Elektrokrajina.
Bosnia is made up of two autonomous entities - the Serb Republic and the Federation. Elektrokrajina is located in Banja Luka, the largest city in the Serb Republic.
