October 31 (SeeNews) - Bosnian electricity distribution company Elektro-Bijeljina said it has signed a 7.5 million euro ($8.4 million) deal with local Prointer for installation of smart meters, meter boxes and a system for remote reading of electricity consumption.
The agreement provides for installation of 30,000 smart meters and 13,000 meter boxes, Elektro-Bijeljina said in a press release on Wednesday.
The project will be financed through a 7.5 million euro loan by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), along with 7.66 million euro provided by Elektro-Bijeljina.
The company delivers electricity to 110,000 clients in 13 municipalities in the northeastern part of the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
