September 5 (SeeNews) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's economic growth is projected at 2.1% in 2022, the government's Directorate for Economic Planning (DEP) said.
In the 2023-2025 period, Bosnia's economy is expected to expand by an average 3.2% on an annual basis, DEP said in a report published earlier.
Negative economic consequences of the international political and economic circumstances related to the events of Ukraine will not bypass Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite the stabilisation of the epidemiological conditions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, DEP said.
In the period from 2023 to 2025, domestic demand through private consumption and investments is expected to be the driver of economic growth, supported by stagnating public spending and reform measures aimed at improving the business environment, the report reads.
Bosnia's gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 5.4% in 2021, according to DEP estimates.
Bosnia's Council of Ministers established DEP in 2006 as a permanent body in charge of planning the state's development policy.
