November 28 (SeeNews) - Bosnian road operator Ceste Federacije Bosne i Herzegovine (Ceste FBiH) has unveiled a 146 million kuna ($82 million/75 million euro) road construction project aimed at improving connectivity between the northeastern town of Tuzla and the capital Sarajevo, the government of Tuzla canton said.
The Sicki Brod-Djurdjevik section is some 17 kilometres in length and will follow an entirely new route, the Tuzla cantonal government said in a statement on Wednesday when it hosted the project presentation.
Works on this section are the first stage of a bigger project for reconstruction of the Tuzla-Sarajevo road.
The government of Bosnia's Federation entity has already provided 40 million marka towards the project cost, while the remainder could come from credits, the cantonal government said without elaborating.
Tuzla is one of 10 cantons forming the Federation.
The Federation is one of the two entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
