November 29 (SeeNews) - The central bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina said it expects the country's real gross domestic product (GDP) to increase by 4.1% in 2022, upgrading its May projection by 1.34 percentage points.
The estimated GDP growth for 2023 has been revised downwards - to 0.9% from 2.1% projected in May, Bosnia's central bank said in a statement on Monday.
The central bank expects the country's inflation to reach 14.4% in 2022, compared with 2.1% in 2021. The central bank noted it expects inflation to decelerate in 2023 and 2024, but it does not see it returning to the pre-2022 average in the medium term.
The projections are lined with high degree of uncertainty due to external influences such as the war in Ukraine, which affects the international energy and food markets, the central bank said.
Bosnia and Herzegovina's economy expanded by 7.6% in 2021 after shrinking by 3.2% the previous year.
