November 12 (SeeNews) - Bosnia-based Bosancar, a manufacturer of cabins, bodyworks and metal components for industrial, off road, rail and agricultural machines, plans to build a railcar production plant in the city of Prijedor, the city government said.
Bosancar owner, Italian investor Giuseppe Franchi, has signed an agreement for the purchase of land for the planned manufacturing plant in Prijedor's Aerodrom 4 industrial zone, the city said in a statement on Thursday.
Prijedor has committed to invest in the infrastructure around the site in the next six months. The new plant is expected to employ 300 people within up to 5 years.
Bosancar owns a 17,000 sq m factory in Bosanska Krupa. Franchi opened the factory there in 2004 following an investment of over 24 million marka ($14 million/12.3 million euro).
