June 9 (SeeNews) - The environment ministry of Bosnia's Serb Republic said it has received a request from local renewable energy company B&B Sunce Vjetar to conduct a preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) of a project for the construction of a 80 MW solar power plant.
The public can examine the request and submit an opinion within 15 days from the publication of the notice, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The Planik solar plant, valued at 136.9 million marka ($75.4 million/70 million euro), will have an annual output of some 106 GWh, according to an earlier statement by the entity's ministry of energy and mining. It will be built in the Bileca municipality.
According to local media, B&B Sunce Vjetar is jointly owned by coffee maker Crnagoracoop and renewably energy company Sistem - MNE, both based in Montenegro.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
