July 17 (SeeNews) - The city of Banja Luka said on Wednesday it opened an international tender for urban and architectural solutions for its central pedestrian zone.
The competition includes architectural design from the Nikola Tesla street to Vasa Pelagic street, the city council said in a press release.
"It is a very complex task that envisages the transformation of this part of the city. For this reason, it was decided to have an international competition," the city council said.
The conditions for the competition will be published in professional architectural magazines and websites.
The author of the best proposal will receive a reward of 24,000 euro ($27,000). The works will be evaluated by a local commission, with the help of the Italian architect Renato Rizzi.
The competition is open until October 31.
Banja Luka is the largest city in the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
