November 29 (SeeNews) - Autoceste FBiH, the state-owned motorway operator of Bosnia's Federation, said it has received eight bids in a 150 million euro ($155.4 million) tender for the construction of the 5.25-km long Tunnel Kvanj - Buna section of European transport Corridor Vc.
Three bids were submitted by Turkish consortia, including a tie-up of Ozaltin and Yapi Merkezi, a consortium of Ozkar Insaat Sanayi VE Ticaret A.S. and Dogus Insaat VE Ticaret, and a consortium of Celikler Insaat Taahhut ve Sanayi A.S., Gulermark Agir Sanayi Insaat VE Tahhut A.S. and YSE YAPI Sanayi VE Ticaret, Autoceste FBiH said in a statement on Monday.
Autoceste FBiH also received a bid from a consortium of Turkey's Limak Insaat Sanayi VE Ticaret A.S. and South Korea's DL E&C CO.LTD, as well as a bid from Turkey's Cengiz Insaat Sanayi VE Ticaret A.S.
The remaining bids were filed by a consortium comprising Azerbaijan's Azvirt, China's Stecol and PowerChina, and Bosnia's Hering; a consortium of China Railway Tunnel Group Co.Ltd. and China Overseas and Engineering Group Co.,Ltd, as well as a consortium of China Road and Bridge Corporation and CCCC Second Highway Engineering Co., Ltd.
The expected duration of the project is 24 months. Autoceste FBiH is funding the project with loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and grants from the EU provided through the Western Investment Framework (WBIF).
The Tunnel Kvanj - Buna stretch is part of the Mostar South - Buna section of Corridor Vc which would link Hungary to Croatia's Adriatic coast via Bosnia.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Serb Republic.
