SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), March 22 (SeeNews) – Bosnia and Herzegovina's annual inflation rate rose to 1.2% in February from 0.7% a month earlier, data from the country's statistical office shows.
Inflation reflected an increase in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.2%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 4.1%, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 1.0%, health by 0.3%, education by 0.7%, recreation and culture by 1.1%, transport by 9.5% and restaurants and hotels and other goods and services by 0.3%, according to a monthly inflation report posted on the website of the agency for statistics.
On a monthly comparison basis, Bosnia's consumer prices edged up 0.3% in February, after increasing 1.1% in January.
Higher prices were recorded in the sectors of food and non-alcoholic beverages, clothing and footwear, health and transport, with the most significant rise, of 0.4%, in the sector of transport.
In 2016, Bosnia and Herzegovina annual deflation expanded to 1.1% from 1.0% in 2015.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is comprised of two autonomous entities - the Federation and the Serb Republic.
