January 5 (SeeNews) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by a real 2.9% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2017, after expanding at an equal annual rate in the second quarter, the national statistical office indicated.
The country's third-quarter GDP grew by 1.4% over the second quarter of 2017, according to seasonally adjusted data published by the Agency for Srtatistics on Thursday.
Observed by activities, in the third quarter of 2017 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, real growth of the gross value added was recorded in wholesale and retail trade (+9.9%), and arts, entertainment and recreation (+9.2%).
A fall of the gross value added was recorded in professional, scientific and technical activities (-4.4% in real terms), and agriculture, forestry and fishing (-3.8%).
Bosnia’s GDP totalled 8.7 billion marka ($5.4 billion/4.4 billion euro) at current prices in the third quarter, compared to 7.9 billion marka in the prior quarter and 8.2 billion marka in Q3 2016.
