BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), January 12 (SeeNews) – Bosnian coal miner and energy producer RiTE Ugljevik [BANJ:RTEU-R-A] generated 1,752.13 GWh of electricity in 2015, or 4.7% above the planned amount, the company said.
Ugljevik exceeded its twelve-month coal output plan by 4%, producing a total of 2,030,832 t of coal, the company said in a press release.
The company said earlier that from 2010 to 2015 it invested some 174 million marka ($96.5 million/89 million euro) in improving the plant's efficiency.
In 2014, RiTe Ugljevik’s power production totalled 1.59 million MWh, 2% above target. Its coal production was in line with targets, at 1.75 million t.
The coal mine and the adjacent power plant are located in the northeastern part of the Serb Republic, which together with the Muslim-Croat Federation makes up Bosnia and Herzegovina.
