October 5 (SeeNews) - Bosnian shoe manufacturer Alpina Bromy invested 5 million marka ($3.0 million/2.6 million euro) in equipment for production of footwear through direct injection moulding, the government of Tesanj municipality, where the company is based, said.
The investment will create some 85 new jobs by the end of the year, the Tesanj municipal government said in a press release on Friday.
The company plans to produce some 2,500 pairs of shoes per day, or over 400,000 pairs per year.
Direct injection moulding is the process of achieving the desired shape of a shoe, by putting a molten material into the cavity of a mould.
Tesanj-based Alpina Bromy is the Bosnian arm of Slovenian shoe manufacturer and retailer Alpina. It employs some 350 people.
