SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), November 1 (SeeNews) – The share indices of Bosnia's two stock exchanges, in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, closed higher on Friday, compared to the week-earlier levels, bourse data showed.

The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) ended at 882.69 points on Friday, up from 869.45 points a week earlier.

The broader SASX-30 index, which comprises the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, rose to 1,333.84 from 1,323.76 points on October 25.

The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, closed at 947.76 points, slightly up from last Friday's 947.27 points.

The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI, launched by SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI), increased to 11,177.72 after closing at 11,074.15 points last Friday. The index tracks 25 companies.

Pharmaceuticals company Bosnalijek was the most traded blue-chip on SASE this week, as its shares closed at 18.49 marka, up 6.3% from last Friday's close. Turnover from trade in Bosnalijek shares amounted to 53,108 marka.

SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.

The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 574.82 points, up 1.86% from last Friday's closing value.

Telekom Srpske [BANJ:TLKM-R-A] generated the largest trading turnover, of 79,854 marka, on the BLSE official market this week. The company's shares closed at 0.88 marka, up 1.51% from Thursday's close.

BLSE’s total trading turnover fell slightly to 1.1 million marka in five sessions this week, from 1.4 million marka in five trading days last week. This week's turnover was generated in 168 transactions.
